Intention to merge Heaton Moor Medical Group and Cale Green Surgery.

We are writing to inform our patients that we are planning to merge with Cale Green Surgery in Stockport.

Why are we Merging?

As you will be aware the Practice have worked hard to provide high quality services for our patients, always focusing on providing good access to appointments and continuously seeking to improve. However, we have learnt through the pandemic that to continue to develop and improve our standards of care and access we need to improve the resilience of service provision for our patients.

Therefore, by merging Practices and creating a larger Practice team, across six sites, we hope to improve team cover and support during times of illness or absence. This will enable the Practice to work more efficiently and should also help manage increasing demand for appointments.

Improvements for Patients

The Practice will ensure the same provision of services with the added site of Cale Green. The main benefit will be that patients will be given the opportunity to book appointments at either site (subject to services available) and have access to services and / or specialist clinical skills at Cale Green site.

Next Steps

In the first instance the proposed merger must be approved by Stockport CCG, but prior to this we would welcome all comments and questions regarding the merger.

To do this we would ask you to either:

OR

  • Send a letter via post, or via Reception, for the attention of Ian Stanyer, Managing Partner

We will be collating any common questions and answers and post them on the Practice website for patients to review.

Thank you for your support.

Please note patients have been sent a text or will receive a letter in regards to this. This text message is not a scam.

The Practice have had high volumes of calls in regards to the proposed merger. The Practice you usually visit will remain the same. You will not be expected to travel to another site unless it is for an additional service like the First Contact Physio Team or a Wellbeing Co-Ordinator.

Frequently asked questions will be added to the website from 24th March in regards to regular questions asked by patients.

Yours sincerely
